Complete Stripe Connect before a paid test

  1. Open Financials

Use the Complete your Stripe Connect setup banner or go to Financials, then Onboarding.

  2. Choose Connect Stripe

Complete Stripe's embedded identity, business, and bank requirements. Exact requirements depend on the account and region.

  3. Confirm readiness

Do not publish a paid listing merely because the form was started. For paid resources, confirm the connected account is ready for both charges and payouts.

  4. Use the right financial view

Diem Sales shows commerce records. Stripe Financials shows balances, payments, payouts, documents, and account management. Reconcile both.

Understand the displayed total

For a paid non-event link or folder, the current buyer fee is 10% of the base price plus $0.99. The buyer total is the base price plus that fee.

Delivery and later access

  • An event confirmation is released only after the payment is settled and provider fulfillment is complete or intentionally skipped.
  • The purchasing browser receives an immediate capability scoped to one confirmation; its default lifetime is about 10 minutes.
  • Receipt email or DM access can use a separate purchase-scoped capability whose default lifetime is about seven days.
  • Later or different-device recovery uses a one-time email magic link for the exact checkout account; its default lifetime is about 30 minutes.
  • Paid external links are resolved only by the authorized post-purchase access action.
  • Paid download folders issue a fresh signed URL for each asset click, normally valid for about five minutes. The default grant permits five downloads per asset and decrements atomically.
  • View-only folders issue signed media URLs that normally last about 15 minutes. Free view-only access does not require a purchase; paid view-only still requires the settled entitlement.

Refunds are not self-service

Buyers do not have a refund control, and the current seller Sales page does not expose a working refund action. An authorized seller owner or Diem platform-administrator workflow supports full refunds, not partial refunds. Diem saves the recovery workflow before changing Stripe and automatically resumes incomplete buyer refunds, entitlement revocation, seller transfer reversals, and referral-commission cancellation or reversal. A full-charge Stripe dispute uses the same durable downstream recovery without issuing a separate buyer refund. Support must still verify the final Diem and Stripe records while live production validation remains pending.
