How a buyer reaches an offer
A buyer can open a Diem offer from an Instagram DM, a public Link Page listing, or a directly shared checkout URL. The public website is a discovery surface; payment and post-purchase access happen on the separate checkout site.
| Entry point | What opens |
|---|---|
| Manual Link Page link | The trusted external URL entered by the seller. Diem does not create an order or receipt. |
| Diem Link Page listing | A new browser tab on pay.startdiem.com for the selected event or resource. |
| Instagram offer card | The Diem checkout or configured destination carried by the message. |
| Direct offer URL | The same Diem checkout without first visiting a Link Page. |
Build and publish your Link Page
Claim a username
Open Links Page. In the Page tab, choose 3–30 lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores, wait for Available, then choose Claim or Save.
Complete the profile
Add a display name, a bio of up to 200 characters, an image, and either the circular Avatar or Full presentation.
Choose a design
In Design, set theme colors, typography, button style, and social-icon color. Check the phone preview as you work.
Add content
In Content, add social profiles and sections. Each section can use Text, 1x1, 1x2, 1x3, or 1x4 layouts, optional horizontal scrolling, manual links, and Diem listings.
Wait for Saved
Edits auto-save. Do not publish while the bar says Saving or Error saving. Incomplete manual links can remain in the editor but are omitted from the saved payload.
Publish and test
Choose Publish, copy the exact URL shown by your deployment, and test it in a signed-out mobile browser. Unpublish can take about 60 seconds to reach the cached public renderer, so remove sensitive content at its source as well.
What the buyer should see
Offer review
The buyer verifies the seller, offer, item or ticket details, base price, displayed Diem fee, and total. Checkout loads and confirms the authoritative amount from the server.
Buyer details
The checkout asks for name, email, and phone. The buyer does not pre-register: Diem trims and lowercases the email, finds or creates the matching account, and assigns the purchase to it.
Payment
A paid checkout can offer manual card entry and available wallet methods. Some cards require an additional 3DS authentication step.
Confirmation
Diem shows the six-character confirmation and delivery instructions only after payment is settled and the event or resource is ready. A processing state means the order still needs recovery or reconciliation.
Immediate access
The purchasing browser receives a short-lived capability scoped to that purchase and confirmation. It is not a broad buyer-account session.
Later access
On another browser or after the immediate capability expires, sign in with the magic link sent to the exact checkout email. The authenticated account must own the confirmation.
Known Link Page limitations
| Limitation | What to do now |
|---|---|
| The public profile domain is inconsistent across Diem surfaces. | Copy the exact published URL shown in your deployment and test it. Do not manually substitute another Diem domain. |
| Listings and manual links may not preserve mixed ordering. | Preview the public page after saving; use separate sections when ordering is important. |
| Text-style listing buttons omit price, Free, or Donate labels. | Use an image-card layout when the price state must be visible before the click. |
| Some selectable fonts may silently fall back. | Use Inter or Playfair Display for predictable rendering and test on another device. |
| The dedicated banner field and Full image behavior are inconsistent. | Check the actual public page instead of relying only on the editor preview. |
| QR and Powered by settings are stored but lack complete controls. | Do not promise that sellers can fully configure those elements. |
| Page views are counted, but listing and manual-link clicks are not. | Use checkout, provider, and campaign-specific evidence instead of treating views as conversions. |
